We all know Symbian is badly beaten by Apple iOS, Google propelled Android (Andy), RIM's Blackberry OS. Most probably Windows Phone 7 will join the club soon, at least that's what Microsoft's propaganda machine is trying us to believe in.

The C6-00 features a slide out QWERTY keyboard, and a 3.2 inches touch screen. Although, its not capacitive touch but still its better than Nokia's C3-00. Nokia C3-00 features an awesome 5 mega pixels camera as well, and the result is pretty nice. Camera is accompanied with an LED flash, the C6-00 also makes geo-tagging a possibility. Camera software sports face and smile detection system.

Nokia C6-00 also supports the all time well known OVi app store, and allows you to install various applications.

Black, and White and believe me both are awesome.
Nokia C6-00 has got the looks, but the software it runs on is pretty old and nothing comparable to iOS or Android etc. And the processor is very week, a 437 MHz of muscle is nothing comparable to Snapdragons hidden inside Windows Phone 7 and many Andy(Android) devices. Snapdragon is a 1 GHz processon, more than double.

There is a major difference between C3-00 and C6-00, it is that C6-00 is a Symbian S60 based device whereas C3-00 is a less capable S40 series device.
Nokia C6-00 contains many other interesting features which are  front-facing camera for video calling, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, Assisted-GPS and stereo Bluetooth. An accelerometer is also built in to do automatic screen rotation, alarm snoozing and call silencing.
The 128 MB memory combined with the limited processing power inside the box appears to worsen matters, as soon as the new device charm factor ends the user finds that the phone is not good at even opening images and going though video galleries.
Nokia C6-00 runs on a 1200 mAH Li-ion batter, which gives up to seven hours of talk time and can stay on standby for 17 days.

My Personal Nokia C3-00 Review

This post is a personal Nokia C3 00 review, I've used Nokia C3-00 myself. Looks like Nokia has identified the market need correctly. And it has come up with an economic hand set, Nokia C3-00. This phone gets you very close to a smart phone, in half the price of popular iPhone/Windows Phone 7/Android gadgets. Still there are many good Nokia C3-00 apps out there, and Nokia C3-00 wifi capability is nice. Although Noki C3-00 wifi is not as strong as the wifi in a lap top, but still people after all Nokia C3 00 is an entry level fone(you can gift Nokia C3 to your papa easily). And there are many many Nokia C3-00 free themes also available.

The Good:

Wifi: The coolest thing is Nokia C3-00 wifi capability is awesome, and by awesome I mean "literally awesome". I bought a Nokia C3 00 just because I knew the Nokia C3-00 wifi is solid.

Nokia OVi Suite and store connectivity: Every thing in Nokia C3-00 can be synchronized with a PC using Nokia's free OVi Suite application. It is also possible to back up your contacts, photos, music, and even phone state using OVi Suite. You can send/read received messages from OVi Suite as well.

Then comes in the OVi App store, which is a nice app store though nothing comparable to Apple's App store. You'll find many good games and productivity software for free. OVi suite works good just because of the solid Nokia C3-00 wifi capability, you can easily download Nokia c3-00 apps over Nokia c3-00 wifi. It is also possible to do Nokia C3-00 update using Nokia C3-00 wifi. Anyways, I keep downloading Nokia C3-00 themes over Nokia C3-00 wifi ;)

Built in messenger software: lets you log-on to MsN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, GTalk, and Nokia OVi chat. Good thing, this messenger can be minimized and you can continue fiddling with music or photos after it gets online.

Mail Client: An application which has built in support for Hotmail(Windows Live Mail, Yahoo Mail, GMail, and Nokia OVi Mail).

There's a build in application for facebook and twitter as well, but at least on my C3-00 its not working. I am using Snaptu (free)for checking out Facebook and Twitter. This application works well on Wifi and EDGE/GPRS connections.

The Bad:
The phone often crashes when you try to forward MP4 files.
Not all MP4 files are supported, the picture disappears for some files.
2 mega pixel camera is totally crap.
When you're typing a long tweet or facebook status update, or in my case even blog draft :p and there's music playing in the background the phone becomes dead slow, letters appear slowly on screen while you type.
I tried to perform Nokia c3-00 update many times but it failed. I currently have version 4 of the OS.

Earlier this year(2010) Samsung introduced its amazing line up of budget "Almost Smart Phones" called Samsung Corby. Corby line up included Corby TXT, Corby, and Corby Pro. All the Corbies had 2.0 megapixel camera. And there were Wi-Fi capable versions as well. A Corby Txt is pictured below, this one seems to be closest competitor of Nokia C3-00

Corby Pro was all about touch touch. I think Samsung wanted to steal some of iPhone lovers. Or lure in people who got iPhone on their wish list, but don't have enough bucks to buy one.

Samsung Pro sports a nice slide out keypad as well, an attempt to bring in high end Nokia phones look and feel, I think.

 

But I think Nokia's OVi store has played an important role in success of Nokia C3-00. Because OVi store contains a whole lot of applications, which can be easily downloaded for free or maybe purchased.

Nokia C3-00 Wish List:

Before specs I think a wish list is much more important, cause you'll find specs on many other sites as well.

• A browser app which could be minimized just like Messenger, and Media Player. In fact, the capability to hide any running application and move out to other applications. The number of concurrent user applications can be limited.
• S60 like home key, which would make switching between applications much easier.
• Pop up alerts about new call and SMS on PC when a C3-00 is connected to PC via OVi suite.
• An easily customizable  grid/list view background
• A Blackberry style scroll wheel.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to conclude that... Nokia C3-00 is no rival to iPhone or Android. But it is definitely a nice phone, with enough features for a common user. I mean c'mon! you can check your mails, facebook, twitter, listen to music, watch youtube, got internet chat,  what else do you need in $135? And it is clearly better than Samsung Corby line up. Go get one ;)
